WHAT: Celebrate and experience Armenian culture and cuisine with the first annual Kermesse: Armenian Street Fair & Festival. The weekend long event, presented by the Armenian Cultural and Educational Center (ACEC) in Watertown, MA, will take place on Saturday, September 11th from 10:00am to 11:00pm and Sunday, September 12th 2010 from 12:00pm to 7:00pm. The event will showcase all aspects of Armenian culture such as an art exhibit from local artists, a historical exhibit by the Armenian Library & Museum of America(ALMA) and gourmet tastings from local vendors including Eastern Lamejun, Massis Bakery and Fastachi.
All proceeds from the festival will benefit the Armenian Cultural and Educational Center, a nonprofit organization designed to sustain Armenian culture and education through the community center. The event will feature live music by internationally renowned artists in the entertainment industry such as Armenchick, John Berberian Ensemble featuring Onnik Dinkjian and the Arev Armenian Folk Ensemble. Perfect for kids of all ages, the festival will include special children’s activities including a Gladiator Joust and Bounce House!
